We are thrilled to share the highlights of the recently concluded CADFEM Conference in Rapperswil, Switzerland! On June 20, 2024, this unique event, focused on simulation, brought together industry professionals and simulation enthusiasts for an inspiring gathering. We were there, this year, too!
The conference featured insightful lectures from engineers across various Swiss industries, all of whom work in R&D departments utilizing Ansys simulation software. The sessions provided deep dives into the latest advancements and applications of simulation technology.
One of the standout moments of the conference was the presentation by our founder, Marco Evangelos Biancolini, titled “Complete Solution for Delivering Interactive Digital Twins with Custom AR/VR UI.” Marco’s presentation captivated the audience as he explored the cutting-edge use of high-fidelity simulations to generate synthetic big data for training AI models. These models can deliver precision comparable to full simulations while operating in near real-time, offering significant advantages.
Marco highlighted how interactive models are crucial during the design stage, helping guide new projects more effectively, and in operation, real-time interactions are essential for digital twins. However, he also addressed the challenges of needing a high level of automation and a replicable, easily deployable workflow for the technology to be effective.
Our comprehensive solution leverages Ansys CAE tools: Mechanical for FEA, Fluent for CFD, combined with RBF Morph for automating the generation of design variations. Twin Builder is used to train reduced-order models, which are then exported into functional mock-up units (FMUs) and processed by RBF for deployment in interactive dashboards. These dashboards, powered by Unity rendering and exported to Meta Quest 3 AR/VR, demonstrate applications in fields such as aeronautics, space, automotive, and healthcare.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the conference and contributed to its success. We look forward to the next opportunity to connect, share, and innovate together.
