RBF Morph participated in the 33rd Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT 2024), that took place in Dublin, Ireland, on September 22-27, 2024. Organized by Dublin City University and the National Centre for Plasma, Science and Technology, this biennial event is the premier conference in the field of fusion technology in Europe. SOFT brings together scientists, engineers, industry experts, and exhibitors from around the globe to focus on the latest advancements in fusion experiments and technologies.

The conference, held at the Helix, Dublin City University, featured invited talks, oral and poster presentations, along with industry exhibitions. RBF Morph was proud to contribute to this prestigious event by presenting two significant studies.

Corrado Groth presented “First Thermo-Structural Vacuum Barrier Design for EU DEMO Feeders.” This research, conducted by Groth, Andrea Chiappa, and Marco Evangelos Biancolini from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, explores the optimization of the vacuum barrier’s geometry using RBF-based mesh morphing parameterization. Additionally, Edoardo Pompa introduced “Validation of Vacuum Vessel Thermal Shield Deformation via Finite Elements and Morphing Techniques Based Analysis,” a study carried out in collaboration with Fusion for Energy.

Both presentations are available for download for those interested in exploring the research in detail.
