ITER is an ambitious global energy project that aims to demonstrate fusion feasibility and achieve net energy production. Design requirements and stringent tolerances of the machine drive industries to higher quality standards. Digital Twin methodologies can provide valuable information for decision-making and risk management during manufacturing.
In this PhD thesis by Edoardo Pompa, a workflow of reconstruction of non-ideal Skin surface models, the base of the Digital Twin, has been developed based on RBF morphing. Reconstruction exercises and association of measured data contribute to develop a virtual model that captures manufacturing deviations.
